Happy Sunday to our Woori Youth! Hope you all had another great week. I think for all of you, school is finally over for this year. Let the endless days of summer begin! This week, our pastor’s sermon is from the Gospel of John 6:1-15. Spoiler alert! It’s about Jesus feeding the 5000! With all the disarray going on in the world and America lately, don’t forget to pray and try to see God’s will during these tough times. It might be hard, but I always believe that there is a reason for all the unrest. His good Will, will be revealed in time. Stay safe and we will finally be able to worship our Almighty Creator and Savior together with one voice next Sunday. Anxiously awaiting the blessings we will receive next week...
Jesus feeding the 5k is one of the stories from the New Testament that most of us tend to overlook. I overlooked it for many, many years! But to me, this is another example that, although Jesus’ disciples were worried about the cost it would take to feed that many people, Jesus gives us a very simple answer to their worrying. I look at this “miracle” performed by Jesus as an assurance and confirmation of what happens when we open our hearts and minds and make an effort to listen to His words. When we willingly seek Jesus’ teachings, like the 5000 that came to listen to His preachings, none were turned away hungry! And by hungry, I am describing both, bodily food we need to physically survive. AND the spiritual food that grants us eternal life. When we choose to listen to Jesus, He will provide “our daily bread”! The food we want AND the food we NEED! Anytime you read the Bible, we nourish our body with much needed spiritual sustenance. It’s like plugging in your phone to charge it. Our spiritual batteries need CONSTANT charging through reading the Bible, God’s Words, and constant prayer, which is a constant fellowship or relationship with our Creator. When we “seek His kingdom” first, everything else we will ever need will be provided by God. If Jesus can feed 5000+ people with 5 loaves of bread and 2 small fish, just think of how much He will feed you and me with?!
John 6:27 says, "Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal.”
Live each day in thanksgiving to God and ask God for food that has no expiration date! See you all next week at Papa’s House!
