Hope you all have had another good week at home helping to end the Coronavirus with your social distancing. This week is, you guessed it, Easter Sunday! To me, it is the 2nd most important day of the year. Christmas, the birth of our Creator, followed by Easter, the Resurrection of our Savior! It will be an Easter like no other we have experienced so far, but I hope everyone in the world will take this opportunity to make it not about the easter bunny, but all about HIM who makes everything possible!
Continue to stay safe and busy.
I have something sad to share with you all. This week, someone that we care for so deeply has passed away. He was born under the most humble and meager circumstances. His life wasn’t special. He grew up, like most of us, in a small town where he obeyed his parents and learned how to read and write and play with his friends. He learned and followed the trade or work that his father had done. Nothing special about this person at all. Little did we know that at age 30, He would really start to shake up the long believed traditions of a certain nation and that he would become the founder of a religion that all religions would be based on today. Although many mourned his death today, many would later rejoice in His death because His death opened the door that no one since the creation of the world could open. Do you know this man who died a most dreadful, savage, painful and humiliating death today? With His last breath, He cried out;
“Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” that is,
“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
Do you know who He is? He has purchased us from death to eternal life by His single act of obedience and sacrifice. He obeyed His Father’s will, even to His death! Even though He died today, the most astonishing thing is, He would be resurrected in a few days and forever rule the heavens and the earth until the end of time! He will unlock the gates of heaven for you and me!
Do not be sad at His death, instead, let there be rejoicing, singing, and gratitude for this Man who was born to die for you and me! Have a great Easter and remember to not worry about anything, but pray about everything! To the One that conquered death on the cross for us, we give glory and praise forever and ever! We cry out loud, AMEN!
