Good Friday to our Woori Youth! Hope most of you have a 3 day weekend! 

This week, we will discuss the gospel of John 2:1-25. Please take some time to read the chapter and ponder the first miracle that Jesus performs and the reason He does it. It’s going to be a nice weekend, so get out there and enjoy it! Disconnect from your electronic devices and bask in God’s glorious creation!

The wedding in Cana. It’s one of the most famous stories in the Gospels and it shows us the first miracle that Jesus performs at the start of His ministry. This miracle is not just Jesus showing off His power, it is a TRANSFORMATION! A transformation through Jesus’ resurrection that we all must be willing to accept to become true Christians. 

Something I heard on the radio this week. In order for us humans, God’s greatest creation, to live, we need a couple of items. Food, water, and most importantly, air. Specifically, 78% nitrogen and 21% oxygen, and 1% combined argon and CO2. Without the correct combination of these gases, we would not be able to survive without a breathing apparatus. Just like the air we breath sustains our life, prayer is the absolute necessary breath that keeps the church of God alive on earth! Prayer in the church provides “air” and sustenance to keep our relationship with God in a healthy state so that we can know Him, hear Him, and be able to do His will on earth. 

Jesus taught us in Matthew 4:4:

It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

When we read God’s words, we eat our daily bread, and when we pray, we breathe our daily breath and provide His church on earth the air necessary to grow and multiply, as we have been instructed, no, commissioned by Jesus. This is why we MUST eat our daily bread and take our daily breath so that we can go out and proclaim the Gospel to all the world. As always, eating our daily bread and taking our daily breath doesn’t cost us anything! This is an important transformation we must go through in becoming Christians.
