Happy last day of January to our Woori Youth! It's going to be a very nice weekend. I hope you all can get some sun before it starts roasting you. This week, we will discuss the Gospel of John 1:19-34. What is the testimony that John the Baptist offers when he is asked? Please take the time to pre-read these verses. Familiarity definitely helps with understanding. Have a great weekend delighting in all the wonders that our heavenly Father has created for us to enjoy. See you all on Sunday.
Testimony? To me, testimony means being a witness to something or someone. Granted, we have a choice to give a truthful testimony or a false testimony. But, if we are Christians and live by the 10 Commandments,
#8 commands that we must NOT bear false witness(testimony) against our neighbor. We must always be truthful when we attest, give testimony, or are a witness to someone or something. It might hurt the person we are giving testimony against, but integrity is something that is black or white. There are no gray areas! Do you believe in Jesus as being born Son of God, who suffered, died, and was resurrected? Of course YES! No gray areas! John gave the most truthful testimony when asked who he was and if he was the Messiah. I pray that you all have the confidence and integrity to profess and give testimony when asked about what and who you believe in. Today’s world seems to be changing to a world where every truth is being bent to accommodate everyone so that we don’t offend anyone. The moment we start bending the truth, the easier it becomes to start deceiving others! Give truthful testimony, bear true witness, for God is not only GOOD all the time, but also He is also watching all the time too!
Every week, we hear of deaths and tragedies around the world. A phrase I read this week in a book called: Johnny Cash, The Redemption of an American Icon, gave me such powerful hope for all those that pass away each week.
“The moment you take your last breath on earth, you take your FIRST breath in HEAVEN!” To us Christians, this is the reason we give testimony and spread God’s word to those who do not believe so that they too will be able to take that first breath when they are “reborn” in heaven. See you all at Papa’s house!
