Happy Saturday to our Woori Church Youth! I can’t believe how fast 2020 is going. January is almost ova! I hope you all had another great week of life, school, and of course, walking with Jesus! This week, we will be discussing the gospel of John 1:14-18.
Please take a minute of your time to pre-read these 5 verses. I even challenge all of you to sit down and read them with your parents! God should and MUST be the first commonality that you and your parents agree on. Everything else is building upon it. Enjoy this nice weather and see you on Sunday.
Who is Jesus? I want to share something with you when you or anyone mentions Jesus. NEVER say Jesus “was”. Who “was” Jesus.. Jesus “was”...Always use “is” when mentioning Jesus. The word “was” is past tense. Meaning something or someone that is no longer. Jesus IS always living with us in the present tense! He never departed us. The Holy Spirit is with us now!
When someone asks you who Jesus was, we as Christians should answer: Jesus IS The Creator, Jesus IS my savior, Jesus IS my protector, Jesus IS my God. Let’s try to keep Jesus in the present tense because He is everlasting!
This week’s scripture reading starts with; “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” What does “Word” becoming flesh mean to you? Why did the Word have to become flesh?
In today’s digital, electronic, wireless transmission world, we can video chat with anyone we want to, even with those we don’t want to as well.
But! How close do we feel to that person when we see and talk to someone over the air? Is it the same as having a conversation with someone next to you? Don’t know about you guys, but I prefer a one on one, face to face conversation. Up until Jesus came to earth, people talked to God but were never able to speak to Him face to face. Moses almost got burned to a crisp when he tried to meet God face to face! Jesus made it possible for us to finally have that intimate, one on one, face to face conversation and relationship with our God! Hope this is not too hard for you all to understand. Have a great weekend and we will discuss more this at Papa’s house this Sunday.
